This course has been a great learning experience for me in a variety of ways. Entering the course with no prior teaching experience, I’ve definitely gained not only a good base knowledge of teaching practices and ideas, but a good base of teaching resources that I will most definitely use when in my teaching experiences to come. These resources include not only good ideas from the .pdf units, but the links to good source material, effective games, and lesson plans.
In addition to the teaching knowledge, I’ve also gained a much more complete and thorough knowledge of the english language, whether it was reminding me of grammar rules, tenses, etc. or learning new concepts that I was never taught, or incorrectly taught in the past.
My plan for using the certificate is to head to Southeast Asia in the coming months and spend a year or two teaching english and traveling and then head to South America and continue the same. This course has been a huge help – it was structured well, the unit subject progression worked very well for me.
