Putting what I have personally gained through working towards completing this course and how I plan to use what I have learned into action is quite easy. In the process of completing this course I have gained a better working knowledge about how the english language works and how I and others use the english language. It seems that many misunderstandings occur through many minor errors that could have been avoided with more thought out and proper use of the language. I have also learned and have an understanding about the perspective of a teacher rather than that of a native speaker. The points of pronunciation in unit 13 have helped me to better understand how a sound is made and ways in which I can teach others how to successfully replicate them. The work I have been doing on lesson plans has helped me to look ahead as well as looking at the now with lessons. Upon reading much of the training material, I have also learned how I can be a better language learner myself by following the same advice for teaching english. The receptive and productive skills units (11 &12) have helped me to see not only from a teaching stand point, but as a learner as well. I feel that every single unit was well thought out and concise, something that I have actually made into three spiral-bound booklets for use as a reference for future use and completing this course. My tutor is superb and gave really great advice, tips and was firm but gentle with any corrections made. Her responses to any and all of my queries were rapid and fully informative. Now that I am at the end of this course I am beginning to feel a great sense of achievement, satisfaction and am eager to start my career in TEFL teaching english. I was recommended this course by friends and with their help I intend to start teaching as soon as I receive my certificate!
