The tefl course has been a great help in giving a clearer direction in lesson planning. The ESA plans are a good guide and useful aid to ensure the lesson is kept interesting and the students are getting maximum opportunities to use the language.
In my years of schooling, we were taught basic grammar (present simple, past simple, future simple) and I guess we just picked up a lot of the other points from usage and were not aware of the names of them. I have found that students have the name of a particular grammar point but don’t know how or when to use it. I now feel more confident dealing with grammatical issues.
Doing this course has given me confidence and I believe I will be a better teacher because of it.

I am probably going to use it in a volunteer position with an NGO in either Bangladesh or thailand. If that doesn’t happen, I will endeavour to help non english speaking people in my home area.
