On the whole, the class has been very interesting and enjoyable. I particularly appreciate my Tutor, Jon, who has always been available and ready to feed me more information. I have gained a more realistic perspective of what is needed to become a teacher of english. I will definitely be taking more courses, both online and perhaps in the classroom. I will follow this course with the free one on teaching children, I believe. I will never again think that I already know all there is to know about english. All the study of grammar was a huge wake-up call. I imagine I will be putting a lot more time in on that area to feel really proficient enough to teach it. I am eager to check out other ways of learning to be a teacher, such as observing real ones. My daughter teaches elementary general music, which is like teaching a foreign language for most kids. I can start by watching and talking to her. I have learned, again, that it is not good to put off work until the last possible minute. At my age, I should know that.
