This course has taught me a lot about teaching, and has piqued my interest further in becoming a teacher in japan next year. I have really enjoyed the grammar units as I have actually been exposed to a greater level of english grammar and parts of speech. I found it interesting to learn how certain parts of speech are used, and the names for them. As a native, in practice these things flow naturally, but it is certainly challenging to identify these and put them on paper. In this sense, I enjoyed getting to grips with the different tenses and increase my knowledge of formal tenses from three to twelve. I have found the lesson plans to be very informative and helpful when setting out how you want to organize a lesson.
In essence, this course has encouraged me and inspired me to teach, even if only for a year, to broaden my horizons and experience teaching in a different culture. I intend to use everything I have learned in this course, in particular organizing the classroom, encouraging student participation and lesson planning in the future as I prepare to travel to japan halfway through next year. I look forward to the business english course!
