Unit 20 focused on troubleshooting in the classroom. This section taught me how to deal with common problem situations such as how to go about the first lesson with a new group of students versus an existing group, great warm up games to play so everyone is comfortable with each other and speaking English, working with different levels of English in the same classroom and techniques to make sure everyone is benefitting and learning. This lesson also touched on working in classes with a large number of students, how to encourage students to use English and try to use their native language as little as possible in the classroom but it's okay in some situations, and finding ways to get all students to participate equally. In my experience, I have run into many of these problems already and sometimes it feels overwhelming so this lesson was really helpful because I feel more prepared and I now know how to handle these situations properly. Sometimes I find it challenging being in a classroom with students who have all different levels of English so I found these suggestions to be the most helpful and I will try them out in the classroom.
