I feel I've gained a good idea of the characteristics of what makes a good teacher and a good learner. Arguably the most important characteristic of a good teacher would be to have a deep desire to teacher. Good personal characteristics of teachers are being very patient, able to instruct an entertaining class, and does an effective good job in motivating students. A good teacher will be able to change roles when needed and maintain a good balance of lecture and activities.
A good student has the willingness to listen and ask questions, the desire to experiment, accept constructive feedback, and carry a strong desire to learn. Adult and children have different learning behaviors and experiences and different approaches to different groups of students should be considered.
