This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I personally have gained a lot from this course and I think every teacher should have a course like this. Having a good knowledge of the subject doesn't mean that you can deliver the information in a professional smooth way.
The course taught me how to start the lesson in a friendly pleasant atmosphere in order to attract the students' attention and prepare them for the information ahead, the warming up part (engage activate) attracts their attention and get them to be ready for participating in class, then how to move smoothly to the second stage (study activate) and give the information through activities and prepare myself for the expected potential problems. After that the course gave me many ideas on how to let the students express what they have learnt and put it in action or real life situations , and see how far have they reached (the activate stage) and this helps to stress on the weak points the next lesson and judge my performance in the current lesson.
The course also taught me a lot about the grammar tenses and when to use them correctly. I think it's a big challenge for the non-native speaker to form the sentences grammatically correct.
Finally I think it was one of my best decisions to take such a course and I hope to make the diploma soon.
