Past tense usage grammatical rules are more straight forward then present and future tense. This is with the exception from the irregular verb that can be found within the past simple form. Though the past simple form does have irregular verbs it is still quite manageable for native speakers to recognize the usage and to chose the correct form. Therefore the teacher should have confidence in identifying effective methods to translate their knowledge to the student. Again tenses seem to be the most challenging aspect of language learning therefore teachers most understand and effectively teach their students so that they are able to establish confidence in their tense usage skills.
