In this Unit we have covered important information regarding testing and evaluation of the English language in class. Certainly, there are different ways of evaluating the students’ progress as well as the students’ language level. As mentioned in this unit, the main ways in which students’ language level can be assessed include tutorials, evaluation by students, and tests. There are different types of tests, certainly each one of them has a different evaluation purpose. Among some of these tests we can find placement tests, progress tests, and diagnostic tests. Among some of the different types of general external examinations are TOEFL and IELTS. On the other hand, Cambridge Assessments are some of the most important certificates for learners of English. Overall, from this Unit, I feel that I have learnt very important information regarding the different types of assessments and evaluations of the English language. Certainly, all of them are important because each one of them is designed with a different evaluation purpose.
