This is a unit focusing on two productive skills-speaking and writing. In my country, or probably in most non-English speaking countries, it takes a long time of practicing the receptive skills before they get to the independent production stage, and not many learners find this stage easy. It is very challenging for the teachers to ensure satusfying output from every learner since it involvs vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, writing skills and so on. Receptive and productive slills are equally important, and each of the skill requires long learning hours. After this unit, I have a better understanding about fluency and accuracy and when to focus on either of them. Again, the ESA example gives a clear lesson plan for teaching writing, which I find very useful. As a matter of fact, I do have a lesson involves fairy tale writing.
