This lesson taught about the integrative language skills: Speaking and writing. These two language tools are very different but are both used for the same purpose, which is to communicate in the other language. In this lesson the difference between accuracy and fluency was discussed, alongside activities that can be used to teach the specific aspects of language. Each is equally as important but typically accuracy is taught and focused on before individuals focus on fluency related tasks. Controlled and guided activities are used to develop accuracy while creative tasks are used to develop an individuals fluency. Next, writing was discussed to be an important skill, yet one of the most neglected skills due to the lack of dedicated classroom hours. Typically writing skills are left to be homework or turn in assignments, which leads to lack of true development with the skill.
