This unit analyzes the present tense formats: present simple, present continuous, present perfect and present perfect continuous. Each one of these describes the different ways the present is used.
*We use the simple present for habits or things that we do regularly; for permanent situations or facts, also when something is generally or always true.
*The present continuous shows actions that are happening at the time of speaking.
*Present perfect shows actions that started in the past and their results come to the present.
*The present perfect continuous shows repeating actions that started in the past and come to the present.
