Unit 15 focused on testing and assessment more generally. It outlined the different types of assessment that can be used in the classroom, including more informal assessment techniques, like tutorials. It also gave ideas for garnering feedback from the students through evaluation in order to improve the class for the students. Most extensively, it covered the variety of test teachers and students will use in the classroom. This included, placement tests, progress tests, diagnostic tests, practice test, and external exams. Specifically, the unit outlined when each test is usually administered and how the results of each test can help the teacher structure the class more effectively for students. The section on external exams was particularly helpful in that it outlined typical external exams students may want to prepare for, therefore giving the teacher an idea of what their interests might be in the classroom regarding these exams.
