This unit covered the benefits of creating a lesson plan, for both teacher and students. My experience working in childcare is that the days ran smoothly with a plan, flexible so that it can be altered depending on the where the children's interests took them, or what was working or not. The example of the lesson plan was helpful, and I saw the importance of noting objectives for teacher as well as students, so that each could improve, having something clear to aim for. Potential problems should be anticipated, and planned for how to explain/solve them. The lesson plan should have a variety of activities, which provide opportunity for speaking, listening and writing.
