Through these two lesson videos I was able to see the importance of explicit instructions and demonstrating before asking students to engage in an activity. For example, there are many times in the first video the teacher asks the students to line up and makes them do an activity without showing them how or telling them why they are doing an activity which leaves the students confused. I was also able to see how the teacher was more inclusive in participation by calling on students and going around the classroom compared to the first lesson where the teacher just allowed the more advanced students to answer the question. The first lesson seems like the teacher is talking at the students a lot (for example, he is constantly writing on the board and reading information) whereas the second lesson seems more engaging (where he asks the students many questions and elicits information and participation)
