This unit went over the various types of testing that take place in the classroom. Specifically for teaching language there are certain tests that are more important overall to the flow of the lessons being taught. For example you have the placement tests which should be administered at the beginning of the semester in order to gauge the varying levels of competency in the classroom. You also have progress tests that are meant to check up on the students progress as far as what they have retained from previous lessons. These exams differ from placement tests because they are each administered at different times. While the placement testing is meant to be done before any actual teaching has occurred, the progress tests are to be given after a lesson is finished.
