I've really learned a lot throughout this course. There were certainly things that I knew going into taking this course. So some things were a review for me. Also, I thought it was helpful to be teaching while I took this course. That way, I can try to apply some of the things I’ve learned in some courses to my class to see what worked and what didn't. I thought the grammar units would eventually become useful if I were to teach some more advance courses. However, I couldn’t use too much of the grammar lessons for my Korean elementary students. Regardless, they were good reviews and information for writing in general. I think the most important information I’ve gained from this course is the ESA. Before this course, my lesson plans were all over the place. Now, it is usually more organized and follows a similar format with each lesson. I can see my students responding to it much more than they did to my previous lessons. I plan to continue keeping in mind the ESA stages of a lesson and try to make sure I cover all three in any given lesson.
