Having experience in teaching english, this course was helpful in the sense that it put a name to many of the things that I became aware of in the classroom setting. For me, I naturally picked up on the qualities of a good lesson and classroom dynamics. However, this course has been helpful in organizing what I already know into distinct pieces with distinct names. For example, the Engage, Study, Activate theory is a model for which most of my lessons fit, but I never had a clear name for the format. Now, I will use this information to sound more professional when discussing my profession and my approach to teaching with other instructors and students. I think this course has made me a more professional and organized instructor.
