I have learned a lot of grammar and language structures. However, the most valuable knowledge I have gained concerns lesson planning. Though it is the most tedious aspect, I actually kind of enjoy planning out lessons. I take lesson planning very seriously because I now realize how much needs to be thought out in order to ensure that students are getting the most out of each lesson. Another important thing I have learned is how different materials can be used to supplement and really boost language learning. I especially plan on using dictionaries to help my students with pronunciation (after having taught them phonetics, of course), vocabulary, and usage. I am also thankful for having enrolled in this tefl course because it opened my eyes to a lot of different games and activities that can be used to teach english in a fun, interactive, and engaging manner. I hope to create an imaginative, creative, and engaging environment in my english classroom.
