The difference between the active and passive voice is one of the more advanced topics of English grammar. Therefore, it is important for every English teacher to understand this concept.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. In a talk on BBC radio Matt Hood described his first teaching experience (he was delivering a class on economics) as a disaster: he didn?t use his voice, he didn?t know where to stand, he didn?t know how to bring the class to order, which led to complete chao.
Indeed, both successful teaching and learning depend on many different things and it takes flexibility and determination at the same tim.
Classroom Management is the skill of organising and managing the class, maintaining discipline, and creating a friendly and encouraging atmospher.
It is very important for a teacher to be skillful at using eye contact, gesture, and voice in order to establish good rapport with the students and to provide as much student-student communication as possible without losing contro.
Classroom arrangement is rarely can be changed by the teacher, yet, one have to remember that it is necessary to give students individual attention, allow all of them to see your articulation, and be able to monitor activities, thus, the teacher?s position in the classroom may appear to be crucia.
Instructions should be given in simple, persistent and clear language, without using jargon and elaboratio.
As for writing on the board, don?t write when you talk, don?t talk when you write (yes, I?ve been there.
Maintaining discipline in the classroom is not only an easy matter, it is one of the most frightening point in teachin.
The teacher should always be seen to be fair, prepared and set an example of punctuality whether we talk about schedules or returning homewor.
Don?t make any threats nor give any promises if you are not going to carry them ou.
Shouting will hardly be helpful in terms of maintaining discipline unless you are chanting together with the student.
In spite of a great multitude of factors that contribute and affect teaching, the teacher is often a decisive element in the classroom, as one possesses a potential either to become a ferocious tool of torture or a beneficial source of knowledge and inspiratio.
