In this unit I learned about speaking and writing, accuracy and fluency activities, speaking activities, encouraging interaction, creative speaking activities, handwriting, spelling, layout and punctuation, creative writing, and games in the classroom. As I read this unit, it really brought me back to the time I was an ESL student, and the many activities our teacher made for us to learn more about writing and speaking in the English language.
One of those activities was a spelling bee activity where our teacher would make 2 groups of students compete with each other. Thanks to that activity, I not only practiced my reading ability, but also practiced my writing and speaking ability by pronouncing and spelling the different words he would ask us to say. It was a really fun and helpful activity for me. As a teacher, I want to give similar activities to my students, so that their speaking and writing abilities improve.
