In this unit, I learned about the different types of tests that teachers use when teaching English. I found it fascinating the different types of tests that teachers employ as a way of testing their student's knowledge and retention of the material taught. In the country I hope to teach in (South Korea) I believe that the educational system favours tests heavily, so it is crucial that I am well aware of the different kinds of tests that are available when teaching a foreign language. The different types of tests that are available from universities is intriguing as it showcases the different requirements that are involved when moving to a new country, as some students will want to do. In my alma mater, they employed a test called the ESAL (English as a Second or Alternate Language). I find it very interesting that there are so many different test for the different countries and even within the countries themselves.
