This topic was quite complex and I can see how it would be a very confusing topic for students. The mix of tenses can completely change the meaning of a sentence therefore it is important to understand the rules and the differences and help the students to understand them in a way that is easy to remember and learn. Using the reported speech in an inaccurate way could lead to misunderstandings especially when talking about dates when something happened for example. I again liked the class topic ideas to help students practice which I will be using.
