This unit is a good review of the different evaluation tools a teacher can use. It's important to monitor student progress both for the teacher and the student. It can be motivating for the students to see how far their language proficiency has progressed, and it's helpful for the teacher to understand students motivations, goals and to see how a class/student can move forward in their language study.
