This chapter covered conditional sentences and reported speech, both of which I feel can be challenging to non native English speakers. However, even for native English speakers, I think the differentiation is difficult. Especially pertaining to reported speech, the way English is spoken versus the proper English may sound awkward to a native speaker. Although I know of the different ways conditional clauses may be written, I didn’t know there were specific names for the conditional clauses. Although as a native speaker it makes it more difficult, I think the structure and format when teaching may be useful for non-native students to learn.
