Teaching a new language consists of teaching vocab, grammar and function and a variety of methods should be used including Straight Arrow, Patchwork and Boomerang methods. In each of the methods, Engage is about engaging students in the lesson and language, the objective here is to get the students speaking and thinking in the language and getting them comfortable. The Study section is about getting them to understand the language, rules, pronunciation, grammar, this is the section where they are given exercise of different forms and the practice and study. The Activate session is about getting them to activate the language/grammar from the lesson they have just been taught. This is generally done by getting them speaking/presenting/story telling/debating - This is a very vocal session
