This unit helped me understand how I can get a lesson to be the most effective for a class. Building rapport with new students is very important. Other things such as how a teacher starts off the first lesson, how they deal with different levels of knowledge, and how they handle large class sizes is all helpful to know and prepare for. It can be useful for teachers to be able to encourage those who need to speak more and help those whose voice may not be a loud as others in the classroom.
