This unit went over the need to knows about teaching vocabulary, grammar and the functions of the language. For learning both vocabulary and grammar structures the students must be taught the meaning of each. For new vocabulary the student must know the meaning of the words to know when and how it is used. Now the teacher has to ensure that every student knows how and when to use the news words appropriately. The vocabulary words also have to be at the appropriate level for the class in order to have an effective lesson plan. When selecting new vocabulary words to teach the teacher must be aware of how frequent the students will be using the words in everyday conversation. The more frequent the better.
