In this particular unit I've learned about managing classes. More specifically, I've learned different techniques to effective teaching through means such as eye contact (what's appropriate and what's not) as well as gesture and voice projection. In addition, I've learned such things as using a students name at the end of asking a question as to keep students on their toes. Seating arrangement was also discussed in this unit, the advantages and disadvantages of row seating v.s. horseshoe for example. As well, the section about how to deal with troublesome students was also beneficial as to not overreact and lose control and credibility from the students. It's important to be calm and collected in this type of scenario and not make any demands one can't follow through on. In addition, I've learned the pros and cons of pair work v.s. individual work v.s. entire class group work. This was an informative session for a detrimental part of the classroom environment.
