I have learnt that teachers can play various roles in giving lessons and that it is important for teachers to plan and review the appropriate roles before and after each lesson. I have realised that this is because students (especially young learners)’ attitudes in class are greatly influenced by teachers’ level of discipline and enthusiasm. Hence I think it is crucial to play a role that balances disciplinary measures and encourages active learning. A good teaching will allow sufficient participation of students and bring out their willingness to learn. However, A wrongly played part such as too much control or an indifference to students’ unruly behavior will negatively affect their motivation, overall learning atmosphere and significantly reduce the students’ learning outcome.
