Managing the myriad of different tasks and situations that occur in the classroom each day requires considerable skill. Effective classroom management is a critical skill that I believe teachers acquire and hone over time. It is acquired through practice, feedback and willingness to learn from mistakes.
The classroom arrangement has consequences for how the students learn, interact and behave. It is then important for the teacher to consider which arrangement is going to be the most conductive, allow for maximum student interaction, possibility to do all planned activities and how it is going to affect the overall classroom atmosphere. The age of the students, their personalitites, the physical space and the materials available must also be taken into account.
