In this unit, I learned about the five classifications of special groups, which are beginners, individuals, Young Learners, Business English, and Monolingual vs. Multilingual. Within beginners, there are also different types of beginners. The difference between absolute beginner and false beginner is that absolute beginner students have no language knowledge in a particular language and no exposure to it either. On the other hand, false beginner students have at least some exposure to the language whether it be by media or newspaper articles. Young learners are usually around the age of 2 to 16. They usually tend to be self-motivated and enthusiastic.
