This unit began by going over common modal auxiliary verbs used in English—including when they should be used, how they are used in the present, future, and past. Then the difference between active and passive voice is discussed. Passive voice is used when it is not known, not important or we don't want to say, exactly who performs an action. The three types of clauses—independent, dependent and relative—are then reviewed. Then type one intransitive, type two transitive separable, and type three transitive inseparable phrasal verbs are covered. Much of what was covered in this unit was new information for me.
