This unit focused on watching real lessons and identifying the positive and negative aspects of them. In particular, the first lessons was riddled with issues, the vast majority of them stemming from the teacher, his attitude, and this techniques. He came off as condescending and rude to hist students. In the second lesson, the teacher was much friendlier and more successful in their application of ESA techniques in the classroom. The change in atmosphere in the classroom was palpable between the two lessons, with the second lesson much better. This unit was particularly helpful in showing me what a student can feel like in and English class and how the teacher's actions and attitudes can so fundamentally alter the classroom dynamic.
