In this unit, I learned the parts of speech of the English language. There are things with which I was already familiar, like nouns and verbs. There were also things that I had never formally learned in school, as I am a native speaker, like adverbs and the different types of adverbs. Obviously, I learned about adverbs and what they do, but I never learned the different types of adverbs and their placement in the sentence. It was always just something I did instinctually. Some things that I found extremely helpful in this unit were the rules regarding the placement of adverbs and adjectives and (in the video) the rules about when spelling changes occur in verbs and adjectives (comparatives and superlatives). I also learned about (among other things) prepositions, and hope that there will be a more in-depth lesson later about the rules regarding the usage of prepositions (get in the car, get on the plane, etc).
