Unit 1 contained topics about roles that teachers and students have. Motivations, behaviors,and language levels. What I learned from this unit is that it takes both the teacher and students to cooperate and work together as a coherent whole in order to have a successful learning environment. Teachers will need to be able to change between roles in order to properly assess different situations or an individual student's needs. I believe that teachers should also be open minded in order to fully understand each student and have empathy.
