Here Below you can check out the feedback (for one of our units) of one of the 16.000 students that last year took an online course with ITTT!

This unit covered some common problems encountered in specific teaching situations, such as large classes, different levels in ability and also suggested ways to deal with certain difficulties, such as students reluctant to participate, unable to understand listening tapes, and using of native language. There were some excellent suggestions for warm up activities to use for establishing rapport between the class (teacher included), when beginning a new teaching position. Using a course book is not necessary for a first lesson. the main thing is for students and teacher to all get to know a little bit about each other, and most importantly enter the course with the attitude that learning English will be fun. Games and pairwork, such as interviews, can ensure that all students have a chance to practise english, and this also gives the teacher an opportunity to assess the student's abilities or areas to specifically work on. Sometimes students will revert to their native language, for example if they don't fully understand the task, or they wish to help a friend who doesn't understand. Teacher should ensure the pace of the lesson is not too far beyond the student's capabilities, and can continuously encourage them to keep trying to use english. When students have a hard time understanding listening tapes, the teacher should ensure first that the volume and clarity are acceptable, and any problematic vocabulary can be addressed prior to listening to the tape. Replay the tape if necessary, making sure that all students were able to understand.
