This unit has taught me the importance of attitude in a class. It was obvious that in the first video the teacher was not motivated and that caused the students to be uninterested in the class. On many occasions the students where looking elsewhere and seemed confused. It was also obvious that in the first lesson the time the teacher spent talking was much more than the time the students spent talking. In the second video the teacher proactively forced the students to talk more and paired them in groups. This a good example of grouping to ensure that less confident students are forced out of their comfort zones and participate in the class. It was also clear that in the first video the teacher didn't seem to have a clear plan and objectives for the lesson. In the second video the students where always busy thinking and discussing the task at hand. In the first video the teacher also corrects the students in the wrong manner, every time a student answers a question incorrectly the teacher simply says "No that's wrong" and does not attempt to correct the students in a manner that is constructive and positive.
In conclusion I have found that by taking an interest in your students by learning their names and giving all of the students equal talking time a lesson becomes more entertaining and the willingness to participate in the lesson by the students increases because of the teacher's attitude.
