The 60-hour introduction to TESOL course offers you a clear insight into the world of English language teaching. The course has many popular features including its flexible time frame which enables you to work at whatever pace suits your personal preference. After you have completed the course, you will also have access to our unique support services for the duration of your teaching career.
Once enrolled on the 60-hour course, you will receive a confirmation email containing your personal log-in details that will give you access to your own restricted section of our online system. From our online system you will be able to view the written materials for the course, which you can then study online or download to your own computer.
After studying the materials for each individual unit, your understanding of its contents will be evaluated before you continue studying the next section. When all units have been completed successfully, you will proceed to the final lesson planning task. The lesson plan will be submitted online for review by one of our tutors. Upon successfully completing all sections of the course, you will graduate and receive your introduction to TESOL certificate.
TESOL Course Aims
Our convenient, short format 60-hour TESOL course aims to provide you with a solid foundation in the world of English language teaching. The course contents are designed to cover a wide range of essential skills and knowledge that will help you to confidently begin your own personal TESOL journey.
Please note that many employers will insist on their teachers having a certificate of 120 hours or more (see our 120-hour certificate course here).
TESOL Course Content
The instruction materials for our 60-hour course mainly focus on the fundamental teaching skills that are required to prepare and deliver an effective lesson in the classroom. Some of the areas covered include teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and how to test and evaluate your students’ progress. As this is a short format style course it does not have sufficient time to cover language awareness and some other important components that are included in our more comprehensive 120-hour TESOL course.
The course is organized into 10 individual units that have been carefully selected to ensure they provide a gradual build up of knowledge, without overloading you with too much information at any one time. This convenient layout allows you to work through the course materials at whatever pace you feel comfortable with.
