TEFL 120-hour Course - Unit 11

In this TEFL video journal entry, Chantelle talks about unit 11 of her online course. Unit 11 deals with the two receptive skills reading and listening. The unit discusses the different reasons we have for reading or listening and outlines the different ways we do this such as skimming, scanning etc. The unit also outlines ways to overcome problems students may have with reading and listening and provides a sample receptive skills lesson plan.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This lesson taught interesting methodology that could be used with flexibility. I think I would enjoy the ENGAGE stage the most because it allow me to get to know my students while also getting them excited about learning English. This was a great lesson to really get a foundation of knowledge on this paticular subject. I was really able to learn alot from the way this lesson was written. It was great being able to learn about the transitive and intrasitiveknowing different teaching methods as well as EAS and its variations can really help me on my lesson plannings. on top that, it revels that mistakes are forgivable as for the errors should be point out and correct with right mean.
