TEFL 120-hour Course - Unit 1

Chantelle is taking a 120-hour online TEFL course with tutor support and videos with ITTT. This is the first of her video diary entries outlining her experience taking the course. Chantelle took the online course because it was better for her to study online than to commit to attending an onsite course. In this video she talks about the first unit of the course. Unit 1 deals with teachers and learners discussing what makes good teachers and learners as well as the types of roles teachers perform in class, motivation levels of different types of learners and the different language levels.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

In unit ix we have heard a lot classroom scenarios and essential things to know unfamiliar countries. I learned about Business Ethiques- Always adopt a conservative approach until you are familiar with the local culture and customsThe content of this lesson basically covered what it means to be a good teacher and student and the different types of teaching techniques. It also covered the different types of students and how to break through their bad behaviors. As the penultimate unit, Unit 19 brings together all which was previously taught. It has definitely prepared me to start my new endeavour in teaching! My confidence level has been bolstered and I am ready for my first assignment!!!
