It is always important to note the setting as well as the level that the prospective students will be under. Teaching English can look very different depending on the age, occupation, and skill level of each student. I must not provide the same lesson material to a group of 12 year olds as I would to an accounting firm. This will help me better prepare and better understand my audience. I think that teaching business English would be a fun and challenging endeavor because the professionals will most likely be highly motivated and ready to learn in their current jobs. The needs analysis is a great tool that helps assess and comprehend where my clients will be in their language learning journey and can help aid me in prep work and keeping an engaged audience.
