Unit 14 discussed the use of course books, authentic material, and created material within the classroom. This unit provided a list of advantages and disadvantages to each kind of material. I learned that a course book can be beneficial as it has a tried and tested syllabus; however, it is very important as a teacher to be critical of the material within the course book and to create supplemental material that reflects the needs of the students in the class.
