This unit focused on course books and lesson materials. Mention is made of authentic and created course materials. Authentic being original organic sources that can cover a wide variety of interests and levels and help build confidence in students. Created materials can be games like crosswords and gap fills that are produced by the teacher or some other source for language teaching purposes. Flash cards and roll playing games also fit into this category. The unit continues on with sample created materials and touches on the pros and cons of using course books and includes suggested criteria for choosing an appropriate text book.
