This unit discussed parts of a sentence including nouns, adjectives, adverbs, participles, conjunctions, and verbs (among other things). While I am a native speaker, I learned the purpose of many parts of the sentence. I also learned that there are many rules, but it seems there are just as many exceptions to the rules. This unit gave me an understanding of how difficult it can be for students to learn parts and know that they may get it wrong at times, but as a teacher to help encourage them to continue and take it sentence by sentence at times.
