As a teacher, there are many challenges that you will face, many of which you will not have control over. You may have a new group of students who do not know one another or you may have a group that has been together in a previous class. You have to develop a good rapport with your students, and to do that, starting the class with a game or a warmer will help. Larger and smaller classes have their advantages and disadvantages, and there are several ways to manage a larger class to maintain control and keep the students engaged. Avoid using their native language so they are motivated to learn english, help reluctant students by giving them opportunities to practice with other students, role-play, or have them listen to a tape recorder. For students having difficulty with listening texts, teaching the difficult vocabulary before the test is a great method to help them overcome this challenge.
