This was a very short final unit for the course on basic strategies for troubleshooting in the classroom. Most of the suggested advice comes intuitively when faced with these obstacles in the classroom, but it is good to have it mentioned in a concrete way. This unit briefly discussed different warmers and how to establish rapport with your class on the first day. The reading also discussed how to manage large classrooms and to keep both slow and fast students occupied and challenged (i.e. lots of pair work). The unit also discussed how to motivate reluctant learners and why they may be feeling reluctant. When learning a language in a classroom setting it is imperative to create a safe and supporting environment for optimum growth and learning potential for the students.
