This unit was helpful in understanding the need for testing before placing a student in the proper level course, during the beginning of a course in order to help with lesson planning and testing during the duration of the course to better understand what is being retained by students and what areas need further teaching. I had no idea there were so many external exams or the fact that so many were to evaluate specific strengths of a secondary language learner. It was interesting to learn of the different external business exams. I can understand why practice tests for these external tests are so important. Someone about to take one would not want to waste time and money without some confidences that they will pass.
