Unit 18 focuses on certain aspects of English grammar - modal verbs, phrasal verbs and the difference between active and passive voice. It taught me how to identify the usage of modal auxiliary verbs and to actually consider them and their form when I am using them in everyday speech. It gave me teaching ideas which I can use to ensure my students understand this rather complex area of grammar studies. It also went into detail about passive voice and suggested exercises to highlight the transition between active and passive voice. In addition to this, phrasal verbs and the different types of clauses (with a focus on relative clauses) were also covered. The teaching ideas for grammar are useful to know and be prepared with especially since it isn't an easy task to teach grammar.
